Limassol car theft probe leads to discovery of stolen goods

Three people found with a significant amount of stolen goods in their Limassol apartment are expected to appear before the town’s District Court on Friday.

The authorities are also searching for a further two people in connection to the same case.

Police found the goods while investigating another crime.

The three already in custody, two men and a woman, all non-Cypriot but permanent residents of the island, were arrested on Thursday.

Police officers investigating the theft of a car that was also set alight noticed the stolen goods while searching the apartment. A fourth man has, meanwhile, been arrested in connection to the car theft and arson.

The stolen items include jewellery, coin collections, clothing, silverware, and electronic devices.

Their original owners will shortly be called to the police station to identity their items.
