An animated Lego remake of the famous Britain’s Got Talent appearance by Stavros Flatley is doing the rounds on social media having recently appeared at the London Greek Film Festival.
The two-minute clip – which was made by Charlie Strank of Chalios Animations – pays homage to the first audition by Stavros Flatley at the 2009 Britain’s Got Talent by introducing the original audio but accompanied with top-motion Lego for the video.
Stavros Flatley are a British-Cypriot father and son dance duo consisting of Demetris Demetriou and his son Lagi Demetriou. They are still considered to be one of the best-loved acts from Britain’s Got Talent.
They delighted TV audiences in 2009 with a belly-wobbling “Greek Riverdance” double act when Lagi was just 13.
“It took me around one to make using the technique of stop motion,” said Strank – who has a Cypriot mother and roots in the village in the Tochni.
“I was inspired to make the clip because I wanted to enter the festival with a Cypriot theme but to also showcase our family friends’ first audition on Britain’s Got Talent.”
The video was also launched by Stavros Flatley.
