Larnaca motorways set for summer road works

Motorists travelling through Larnaca have been warned to brace themselves for road works between April and July.

According to an announcement by the Public Works Department, work will get underway on the traffic islands along all the motorways within the Larnaca district – in other words, on the motorways leading to and from Nicosia, to and from Limassol and to and from Ayia Napa.

The works are scheduled to take place between 8.30am and 5 pm except on weekends and public holidays.

The Public Works Department added that during the period covering the road works, 1.5km sections of the right-hand lane in both directions of the motorway will be closed off to traffic.

Motorists, continued the announcement, must conform to the relevant road signs and to follow police instructions.

Members of the public can keep track of these and other programmed road works on www.traffic4cyprus.org.cy which shows affected areas on maps and offers alternate travel routes.
