Larnaca man succumbs to crash injuries

An elderly man who was involved in a traffic collision last week has succumbed to his serious injuries, doctors at Larnaca General Hospital have confirmed.

Panagiotis Petrou, 76, had been in hospital since January 21 after his motorcycle was struck by a car being driven by a 66-year-old woman on Stratis Myrivilis Street in Larnaca. He was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital where he underwent surgery and was being kept in intensive care.

Petrou died from his injuries at around 8pm on Sunday night.

Larnaca traffic police are still investigating.
