Israeli commandos land in Cyprus

A large number of Israeli Special Forces soldiers have landed in Cyprus to take part in a joint exercise with the country’s National Guard. The exercise is to take place on Sunday and is expected to be the biggest in scale, joint exercise of the two countries.

The exercise is take place in various locations on the Troodos Mountain range, and is part of the defense cooperation between the two countries which has developed over the past years.

Scenarios, which are to be carried out with the Israeli forces, include the taking over and freeing villages, surviving under harsh conditions are on the exercise’s program.

The presence of the Israeli commandos is expected to be impressive, as this is the first time such a large number of soldiers from a neighbouring country, will be in Cyprus for a military exercise.
