Police have announced that a 34-year-old man believed to be missing after going for a swim at a beach in Pomos, Paphos was found on Monday afternoon alive and well.
The 34-year-old tourist from Belorus was found walking along the Pachyamos-Pomos road by a 27-year-old Pomos resident.
According to the police, the tourist claims that he had been swept away by the current but had finally managed to make his way to shore ending up in an isolated stretch of coastline.
Earlier police launched an intensive search for the 34-year-old believed missing after going for a swim off the remote Pomos area on Monday morning.
According to police, they were alerted to the scene at 11 am on Monday morning after being informed about abandoned personal belongings on the beach.

Police who arrived on the beach found the man’s passport amongst the personal items and following subsequent investigations it was determined that he had travelled to Polis Chrysochous from another village in the Paphos district.
Following an intensive search off the coast of Pomos and the surrounding area, police reported on Monday afternoon that the 34-year-old had been found in good health
