A police officer arrested for indecency at a beach in Protaras on Sunday was suspended from duty early on Monday morning.
The 44-year-old police officer is facing indecency charges as well as charges relating to sexual abuse of children as his indecency took place close to three children and was witnessed by at least one of them.

According to sources, the child that witnessed the act told his parents who subsequently called the police.
The 44-year-old was arrested and detained and subsequently suspended and will be facing both a disciplinary and criminal investigation.
“This type of behaviour is not acceptable to the police leadership,” said Deputy Police Spokesman Stelios Stylianou.
The 44-year-old has denied all the charges, maintaining his innocence
