A marble-carved white cross, which is two metres in height and weighs over seven tons, is currently at the Nicosia village of Episkopio after being recently placed between the Bishopric of Tamasou and Oreinis and the Russian temple with the golden domes.
The temple is dedicated to Apostle Andreas and to all Russian Saints.
A special crane-bearing vehicle was used to transport the impressive cross and a concrete base was made for it to sit in.
The base will be covered with green marble to match the colour of the lawn that surrounds it, according to Bishop of Tamasou and Oreinis Isaias.
The cross is made of a special Dionysos marble and the letters carved will be covered in gold in the coming days, as it is customary in Russia.
