Greek actor Stathis Psaltis died on Friday afternoon at the age of 66. The beloved actor was being treated in an Intensive Care Unit at the Saint Savvas clinic in Athens.
Psaltis lost the battle with cancer after a long term battle. The actor was initially diagnosed with lung cancer which had metastasised to other vital organs and doctors were unable to stop its spread.
The actor was born on 27 February 1951 in Velo Korinthias where he lived until he and his family moved to Aigaleo at the age of 11.
He studied at the acting school of Kostis Michailidis and finished the law school of the university of Athens.
He was widely known as comedian. He starred in a lot of Greek films and also in theater. He became incredibly popular along with different actress in the 1980s with commercial movies such as “Kamikazi agapi mou”, “Traffic warden Varvara”, “Ta kamakia”, “Vasika Kalispera sas”, and many other movies.
