This good-looking contemporary urban tavern in Nicosia was created by two young entrepreneurs who developed a brand new approach to the traditional Cypriot tavern. Gourgouismata, situated opposite the old GSP offers a laid-back dining experience serving Cypriot and Greek cuisine with a modern approach. The tavern is a popular destination for locals to enjoy a wide range of meze dishes with beer or locally sourced wine. The food menu goes big on classic Cypriot meze dishes with a twist. Expect, then, a range of grilled dishes such as kebab, sheftalies, steak and also local meze dishes such as pastourma sausage, pork cooked in wine, meatballs with sundried tomato, mushrooms in red wine and much more. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night there is live music. Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
