Arsenal Soccer School Cyprus, the exclusive partner of the Grammar School based in Deftera, is offering one full Grammar School scholarship. The recipient of the scholarship will be decided based on both football and academic performances.
Interested students (born in 2005) can participate in the annual Grammar School soccer trials on Saturday, 4th March, 2017 at 15:00, at the school’s facilities located in Deftera.
In addition to the football trials on 4th March, the young soccer players who wish to attend the Grammar School Athletic Programme must take the Grammar School entrance examinations on Monday, 13th March.
The newly established Athletic Programme of the Grammar School, which collaborates exclusively with the Arsenal Soccer School Cyprus, began operating in September 2016. The Programme is intended for talented soccer players who now have the opportunity, in addition to their studies and their afternoon practice with their teams, to add to their football training through the morning Programme.
Students are entitled to attend the athletic Programme until their graduation. The Programme includes four training sessions each week, with emphasis on the technical aspect of training and individual expertise while athletes attend seminars and lectures, go through ergometric examinations and are supported by sports psychologists.
“Although we expect increased interest, we keep the places available limited because we want to maintain the high level in sports and academic performance. The latter is especially important for everyone working for the Grammar School Athletic Programme,” said the head of the Arsenal Soccer School Cyprus Charalambos Spyrou
Mr. Ara Petrosian, Technical Director of the Arsenal Soccer School, Cyprus, will remain the Head of the Grammar School soccer programme for the coming academic year.
The Grammar School Athletic Programme (2017-2018) will also introduce swimming and basketball programmes as well as the existing soccer programme.
