A fire that was raging out of control between the communities of Skoulli and Kato Akourdhalia within the Paphos district has now been brought under partial control.
According to Fire Services Spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the uneven terrain where the fire had been spreading had been making it difficult for firefighters. The fire was reported to the authorities on Sunday morning.

A total of nine fire engines, 20 firefighters from Polis Chrysochous Fire Station as well as added reinforcements from Peyia, Stroumbi and Limassol had been dispatched to the area.
Three helicopters and two planes had been helping to battle the blaze from the air.
An announcement by the Fire Services later on Sunday said the emergency services would remain on high alert throughout the area.
