A fire broke out at an Ayia Napa hotel on bustling Nissi Avenue, forcing the evacuation of its third and fourth floors. There were no injuries reported.
According to the Fire Service department, the fire was caused by a cigarette butt that somehow was thrown into the corridor walls that were insulated.
The fire, which started at around 9:20pm, and was extinguished fairly quickly with the use of four fire engines.
As a precaution, two floors were evacuated due to smoke in the corridors.
