Drunk driver involved in Limassol crash

Traffic Police say a 48-year-old man was almost six times over the legal alcohol limit when his car crashed into another vehicle in Limassol on Sunday night.

According to police, the accident occurred along Amathounta Avenue at 9.30pm when the man’s car collided with another vehicle being driven by a 45-year-old.

Breathalyser tests were performed on both men, with the test on the 45-year-old turning up negative. The test on the 49-year-old, however, showed a reading 115mg/L – nearly six times the legal 22mg/L limit.

He was placed under arrest after refusing to take a second breathalyser test.
