There was an increase in the number of Cyprus residents travelling abroad in June 2017 according to the latest Cyprus Statistical Service data.
The increase was recorded in trips to the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, and Bulgaria, while trips to Greece, Romania and France showed decreasing numbers.
According to the data, the number of Cyprus residents travelling abroad in june 2017 was 110,235 compared to 100,764 in June 2016, an increase of 9.4%.
Trips to the United Kingdom increased by 16.1%, up from 21,530 in June 2016 to 24,998 in June 2017.
Trips to Greece decreased by 0.1%, however, the country is still the favourite destination of Cypriots.
An astounding 51.8% increase was recorded for trips to Russia, reaching 5,368.
The number of trips abroad in the first half of 2017 was 634,082, up from 540,356 in the first half of 2016, an increase of 17.3%.
