Cyprus Railway Museum inaugurated

The Cyprus Railway Museum at Evrihou village in Nicosia district was inaugurated on Friday by Communications and Works Minister Marios Demetriades.

“The opening of a Railway Museum adds to the long history of the island,” the Minister said in his address.

“The museum depicts the multifaceted contribution of the Antiquities Department in maintaining and presenting the island’s heritage,” he added.

Cyprus’ railway was in operation from 1905 to 1951 with a route from coastal Famagusta to Nicosia, Morphou and Evrihou which is near Kakopetria mountainous resort.
