Cyprus, Pakistan abolish visas for official passports

An agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service or official passports between Cyprus and Pakistan has been signed, an official announcement said on Thursday.

“The signing of the Agreement constitutes an important step towards the enhancement of the two countries’ cooperation and relations at the diplomatic level,” it also said.

On behalf of Cyprus, the Agreement was signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Minas Hadjimichael.

And on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, by the High Commissioner to Nicosia -resident in Beirut-Ambassador Aftab Ahmed Khokher who is currently paying a working visit to Cyprus.

The two officials exchanged views on the Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, developments in the region and other issues of mutual concern, the announcement said.
