Cyprus condemns terrorist attack in Paris

Cyprus on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Paris late on Thursday and expressed full support and solidarity to the government and people of France.

“The Republic of Cyprus conveys its condolences to the family of the victim and wishes a quick recovery to those injured,” a Foreign Ministry announcement also said.

A French policeman was shot dead and two others were wounded in central Paris in the  attack which was carried out days before Sunday’s presidential elections.

The terrorist attack was quickly claimed by the Islamic State militant group.
