Cyprus and US in search and rescue drill

Cypriot and US forces were involved an international search and rescue drill early on Tuesday morning, the Cyprus Ministry of Defence announced.

The exercise – titled ‘CYPUSA-03/16’ – took place south of Cyprus’ coast ad included the participation of air and sea fleets belonging to Cyprus and the United States.

A statement by the MoD read that the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre or JRCC Larnaca would be coordinating the exercise alongside the European Operational Command of the US Navy.

It is the third such search and rescue drill this year between the Cypriot and US forces.
