Calling all aspiring cleantech entrepreneurs

Chrysalis LEAP, the first cleantech accelerator in Cyprus and the official organiser of ClimateLaunchpad in Cyprus and Greece, announced the launch of the 2016-2017 competition.

ClimateLaunchpad is a programme by Climate-KIC, the EU’s main climate innovation, aiming to highlight the best cleantech ideas across Europe by accelerating development in order to create investable businesses, with products and services delivered to the first client in about 12-18 months.

Up to 10 participants will be selected from the pool of applicants to take part in an intensive 2-day boot camp, with the top three finalists then competing in the European finals in Tallinn, Estonia in October.

At the finals, more than 10 start-ups will be selected to gain access to Climate-KIC’s acceleration programme, a ‘real life business school’ that focuses on the development and commercialisation of cleantech startups, as well as access to further funding.

In Cyprus and Greece, the programme will continue with two more training stages, where the participating start-ups will further develop their business model and will be prepared to pitch and present their idea to prospective investors. These two stages will also be open and available to start-ups that took part in previous years’ programs.

Students, startups, entrepreneurs, researchers and anyone who dreams of starting their own business can submit their cleantech business idea by 31 May, on the Chrysalis LEAP website www.chrysalisleap.com.
