Cabinet approves casino consortium and natural gas tender

The Cabinet validated on Thursday the Melco-Hard Rock consortium bid for casino licensing said Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis.

“With this step, the licensing process for the consortium is essentially over, and now the baton is handed to the Games Committee”, Lakkotrypis said.

“It is an ambitious project which will enrich our tourist product and create new job positions”.

In addition, Lakkotrypis said that the Cabinet, “has approved an Energy Ministry proposal to give an order to the Natural Gas Public Management Company (NGPMC) to move ahead with two tenders regarding natural gas in Cyprus.

The first tender is for the construction of the necessary infrastructure to import and process gas on the island, while the second tender is for the provision of natural gas.
