A 47-year-old construction worker was left in a critical condition at on Sunday after being hit on the head by a falling scaffolding platform.
According to reports, the 47-year-old, a Bulgarian national, was working on an under-construction Limassol hotel when the accident occurred.
According to the police, the accident happened at around 7am, with the platform falling onto the worker from the second floor of the building.
He was rushed to Limassol General Hospital and, due to the severity of his injuries, transferred to Nicosia General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Both the police and Labour Inspection Office representatives visited the site to investigate.
