A 59-year-old British tourist, Carl Leach has died while swimming in the sea off Kato Paphos.
According to police, the 59-year-old and his wife were swimming in the sea in front of the Annabelle Hotel in Kato Paphos where they were staying when the man lost consciousness.

His wife called the lifeguard on duty for help. He pulled the man from the sea and attempted to revive him with the use of a defibrillator but to no effect.
The tourist was transferred to The Paphos General Hospital where doctors on duty pronounced him dead.
An autopsy will be performed on Friday to determine the exact cause of death.
