Police officers in Limassol were left stunned on Wednesday afternoon after stopping a car that had run a red light only to discover a 14-year-old boy behind the wheel and his 60-year-old grandfather in the passenger’s seat.
Both grandfather and grandson were placed under arrest and charged at Limassol police station but it wasn’t the only case of an underage driver that officers discovered in Limassol.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, traffic police stopped a car only to discover a girl of 15 behind the wheel. Both the girl and her 35-year-old mother – who is the owner of the vehicle – have been charged and will appear in court at a later date.
Elsewhere, two 15-year-old boys have been arrested and another two 16-year-olds are wanted by investigators in connection with a motorbike theft.
