Blocked blood vessel caused Nicosia woman’s death

A pulmonary embolism (the sudden blockage of a major blood vessel in the lung, usually by a blood clot) was the cause of the sudden death of a 30-year-old woman from Latsia, Nicosia on Thursday afternoon.

The cause of death was announced in an autopsy report by coroner Ageliki Papetta on Friday.

The 30-year-old woman was at home with her family in Latsia, where at 18:15 she suddenly lost consciousness.

She was rushed by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital where doctors were not able to revive her.
