Bank employee ‘stole €102,000 from friend’s account’

Police are searching for a bank employee accused of stealing €102,000 from a friend’s account.

According  to Limassol CID chief Yiannis Soteriades, a complaint has been made by a 61-year-old former bank employee who says she entrusted her 53-year-old friend  with managing her bank account.

However, when checking her account last year she was told only €1,000 remained of the some €103,000 she had anticipated.

The woman immediately confronted her friend who promised to return every cent, something she has, however, not done, prompting the victim to go the police.
