Apollon Limassol will be looking to make a winning start to their third Europa League campaign in the group stages on Thursday night against French side Lyon in Nicosia.
Sofronis Avgoustis will be without the injured Fotis Papoulis and Angelis Angeli while Croatian striker Anton Maglica is racing against time to be fit in time of the game.
The Limassol club – who are in the group phase for the third time in their history – will be playing their home games at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

“We are in a group with three very tough teams (Lyon, Everton and Atalanta),” said Avgoustis – who led his side to victory in last season’s Cyprus Coca-Cola Cup.
“We are the underdogs but in football anything is possible which is why we have prepared well for this game. Lyon a massive club with excellent and quick players.”
Lyon will not have fond memories of Cyprus particularly after they were famously knocked out of the 2011-12 Champions League Last 16 by APOEL on penalties.
“That defeat will still be playing on their minds and they will not want to find themselves in the same situation again,” continued Avgoustis.
The game will be shown live on CyBC 2 and will kickoff at 8pm.
