APOEL to face Doxa, Apollon land Anorthosis

APOEL were left smiling after Thursday’s draw for the Cyprus Coca-Cola Cup semi-finals after the league leaders were pitted alongside relegation strugglers Doxa Katokopia.

The other semi-final saw fellow title chasers and current Cup holders Apollon Limassol face Anorthosis Famagusta. The first legs will take place on April 28 with the second legs set for May 10. The kick-off times will be announced at a later date.

Last season’s Cup trophy was lifted by Apollon who had defeated Omonia 1-0. The winner of this season’s trophy will enter the Europa League qualifiers unless the eventual winner is also the champion.

In that event, the team finishing fifth in the league will be in Europe and not the losing Cup finalists.
