Aphrodite rally car in serious accident

A car participating in the Aphrodite Rally was involved in a serious accident in busy part of Paphos on Sunday morning. As a result of the crash the two crew members were seriously injured.

According to a police announcement the accident took place at a crossing on the busy Tasos Papadopoulos Avenue around 11 o’ clock on Sunday morning .

The two crew members are currently at the Paphos General Hospital, where they are undergoing a series of checks.

    I have seen comments elsewhere that some Rally Cars were driving on public roads with even more disregard for traffic laws and other road users that is quite common here, eg jumping red lights, speeding, pushing in from the wrong lane at Junctions, etc., and one must ask was that a factor here?
