Anonymity plea for Cypriot Joker millionaire

The first Cypriot to win such a high amount in the JOKER lucky number game, is a Limassol man who suddenly found himself over €16 million the richer has asked to remain anonymous.

The Greek Cypriot resident of Limassol on Thursday won a whopping €16,428,349 million after spending just  €3 to play and getting his lucky coupon on Thursday afternoon, hours before the draw.

The tax man will also get a cut of the man’s winnings, leaving him with 80% or just over €13,142,4000.

The winning coupon was purchased in a betting shop belonging to Fotini Kavazi in Mesa Yitonia in Limassol and the winning numbers were: 9, 11, 33, 43, 44 with JOKER the number 13.

A further eight players who found the five numbers without the Joker will each win €120,884 while a 236 people who found four numbers and the Joker will each cash in €2,500.

It was the second largest roller-over jackpot for the Joker draw.
