Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will address the United Nations General Assembly later on Thursday in New York.
His address is expected to take place at 5pm (Cyprus time) and will be televised live on CyBC 1.
According to an official press release, Anastasiades will also have meetings with the US Vice President Joe Biden and with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
Thursday’s schedule will also include Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras addressing the UN General Assembly.
The theme of the general debate of the 71st session is “The Sustainable Development Goals: A universal push to transform the world”.
On Wednesday, Anastasiades and Tsipras discussed the Cyprus problem with the Greek government reiterating its position that foreign guarantees and foreign troops in a member state of the EU cannot be accepted as part of a solution.
A tripartite meeting between UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci and Anastasiades will take place on Sunday.
