A 36-year-old man was arrested by police in Lania, Limassol in connection with a burglary in the village reported by a 50-year-old.
According to police, the 50-year-old informed the police that around 17:30 when he returned to his home in Lania found a stranger in his garden holding a bag and wearing gloves.

The suspect managed to escape as the 50-year-old approached who subsequently went out searching for him.
The 50-year-old called the police when he spotted the suspect driving through the village.
After stopping the suspect, police discovered that he was driving without a valid MOT certificate and had outstanding road tax payments.
About €70 was found in his bag which is believed to have been stolen from the 50-year-old’s house.
The 36-year-old was arrested and detained.
The suspect admitted to the burglary and subsequently led the police to a field where he had thrown the tools he had used to break into the 50-year-old’s house.
