20th Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival – Cyprus

The most important Contemporary Dance Festival in Cyprus returns to Nicosia, Limassol and Pafos this June for its 20th edition, which is set to highlight the evolution of contemporary dance internationally.

Where: Pallas, Rigainis and Arsinois, Paphos Gate, Old Nicosia, Nicosia; Rialto, Andrea Drousioti 19, Platia Iroon, Limassol; Attikon Open Air Theatre, Paphos

Organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Rialto Theatre, the festival aims to present the audiences with the latest trends, creations and currents of contemporary dance, while at the same time, building bridges with the world’s choreographic community.

This year the festival includes eight performances from seven countries. Cyprus will participate with performances by Alexandra Waierstall and Eleana Alexandrou, on June 11 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia. Four performances will take place at Rialto Theatre in Limassol, which is the main venue of the Festival. France, Israel, Austria and Switzerland will be performing for two consecutive weekends, June 17-18 and June 24-25, respectively. The festival will culminate with performances by Japan and Spain, which will take place on the June 26-27, at Attikon Open Air Theatre in Paphos.

Tickets for each performance cost €5 and a full festival pass is €20 (valid both for Limassol and Nicosia). Entrance to the performances in Pafos are free as part of the programme for Pafos2017.
